Microbiologist

Actalent is seeking a Microbiologist for a great opportunity working for a food and beverage manufacturing company in the Clermont, Fl area.

Job Description:

• Make and sterilize media for testing
• Enforce all food safety and quality procedures.
• Maintain calibration for all lab equipment
• About 70% in the lab and 30% on the production floor.
• Responsible for taking samples from production and running various testing on raw and finished product.
• Must be comfortable with standing, climbing and lifting up to 25lbs.
• This is a manufacturing environment. This is not a clean lab, it's a small lab that is climate controlled, but the production floor it not climate controlled.

Requirements:

• At least a year in QA, preferably food and beverage.
• A Bachelor's degree in Biology or Chemistry is preferred.
• Experience in scientific research and laboratory work may be advantageous.
• Proficiency with computers and scientific equipment.
• Strong problem-solving, critical thinking, and analytical skills.

Pay:

• $17/hr
