The Genomic Targets Biology group is seeking a highly skilled and motivated RNA Biology and Functional Genomics scientist to join a dynamic team dedicated to understanding the molecular basis of and developing novel therapeutics for neurological disorders. In this role, you will work independently and with other experimentalists, computational biologists, and statistical geneticists to exploit our understanding of how genetic variation and RNA metabolism impact disease. This is primarily a laboratory-based position for a scientist with strong molecular and cellular biology skills and deep understanding of RNA biology to study how the transcriptome and proteome is regulated and how this regulation may be leveraged for therapeutic advantage. Who You Are
- Partner with scientists to identify key questions and priorities that RNA biology and functional genomics experiments can impact
- Deliver experimental results that validate novel therapeutic targets and define therapeutic strategies to project teams
- Develop and optimize high throughput RNA assay platforms to enhance Biogen's drug discovery pipeline
- Work with external collaborators using cutting edge methodologies to functionalize genetic variation and their impact on RNA metabolism

Qualifications Required Skills
- Ph.D. in Molecular and Cellular Biology, Genetics, Genomics, or related field
- Advanced experience with RNA assays (such as qRT-PCR, RT-ddPCR, RACE) and genomic/transcriptomic approaches (such as RNA-seq, CLIP-seq, Ribo-seq) to solve biological problems
- Expertise in functional genomics assays, including antisense oligonucleotide (ASO)-mediated gene regulation, sh/siRNA treatment, CRISPR/Cas9 engineering
- Demonstrated ability to work independently to design, execute, and troubleshoot experiments
- Proficiency in computational approaches to next-generation sequencing data analysis
- Excellent collaboration, organizational, and communication skills and an ability to work well in a team setting
- Sharp ability to learn and adapt to work on new tasks and projects that are not initially familiar
- Experience in assay development and high throughput automation
- Prior study of noncoding RNA and regulation
