Biology Scientist

Sirnaomics, Inc. is a leading clinical stage biopharmaceutical company in the discovery and development of RNAi therapeutics for treatment of cancer and fibrotic diseases. We are seeking candidates to fill the newly created position of Biology Scientist in our headquarters in Gaithersburg, MD.

This position will be focused on the assessment of cellular receptor expression, efficiency of cellular uptake, and RNA interference in mammalian 2D and 3D cell culture with cell imaging, western blotting, flow cytometry, qRTPCR, etc.

Responsibilities & Requirements

• Method development and validation (2-, 3-d cell culture, cell imaging, flow cytometry, western blotting)
• Experiment design
• Perform cell-based assays
• Cell culture, transfection
• Perform qRT-PCR to evaluate siRNA-mediated KD effect
• Data analyzes and interpretation
• Write SOPs and reports
• Manage material, equipment, and instrumentation
• Participate in lab maintenance and ordering reagents and supplies.

Education & Experience

• An advanced degree (PhD/MS) in biomedical science, cell biology, molecular biology, immunology, or related field of study.
• Two or more years of relevant experience.
• Experience with method design, development, and validation
• Experience with 3d mammalian cell culture
• Experience with mammalian cell imaging
• Experience with western blotting and IF
