Job Summary

The Lawrence J. Ellison Institute is seeking a talented and passionate Research Lab Specialist to join its team. As part of the Ellison Institute, the Gross lab is involved in developing biomarkers and treatments for cancer. The Institute is made up of a diverse group of innovative and talented professionals who work in a fast-paced environment that provides ongoing support to research projects, patient care, lab research and administrative operations.

The Research Lab Specialist is responsible for performing the following job duties:

Job Accountabilities:
  • Design and documentation of experiments
  • Detailed record-keeping and assembly of timely reports
  • Weekly presentations to supervisory staff
  • Effective written and oral communication skills
  • Works collaboratively


ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Excellent verbal and communication skills, and the ability to work both independently and in a team environment are required. Key success factors in the performance of this position include attention to detail, strong trouble shooting and problem solving experience, the ability to collaborate across disciplines, and curiosity.

Minimum Education: Bachelor's Degree

Minimum Experience: 3 years

Minimum Field of Expertise: Molecular/Cell Biology

Preferred Education: Master's Degree

Preferred Experience: 5 years

Preferred Field of Expertise: Molecular/Cellular Biology, Biomedical Engineering or other relevant discipline.

Salary: 75k - 83k
