We are currently seeking an enthusiastic, innovative and motivated individual with a scientific background in immunology and microbiology to join our fast-paced, entrepreneurial, team environment. In this role, you would be working with a team of engineers and scientists doing cutting edge research in the fields of organ-on-chip systems, tissue engineering, phage therapy, and natural product-based drug discovery. The primary responsibilities will include planning and executing experiments, as well as analyzing and presenting data in written reports. Some immediate research areas will include designing cellular assays and microfluidic devices, as well as opportunities to work on biofilm growth and susceptibility testing. In addition to on-going research projects, the scientist in this role will contribute to shaping future research topics and support proposal (and white paper) development as opportunities arise. Candidate will need to demonstrate strong communication skills while interacting with multiple stakeholders (internal and external) to shape technical solutions as well as communicate information to both customers and collaborators. Candidate should enjoy working within a team environment that includes a variety of technical areas of expertise and a passion for developing technology. Requirements: * Candidate must be a US Citizen * Position requires at least a Bachelor's Degree in molecular biology, microbiology, cell biology, virology, immunology or biological sciences - preferred candidate will have at least a Master's Degree (PhD is a plus) * Fundamental knowledge with practical experience in immunology and microbiology required. * Hands-on experience in primary cell culture, biofilm culture, viral culture and assays, as well as molecular biology, immunology and biochemical techniques. * Candidate must have strong writing skills (scientific publications, proposal writing, and reports) Additional Qualifications: * Experience with designing cellular assays and microfluidics, and/or experience with ESKAPEE biofilm growth and susceptibility testing will be considered a plus.
