We are seeking an independent, motivated, and creative Research Associate to join our dynamic and collaborative neuroscience team. The successful candidate will have in vivo and in vitro expertise to support investigation of targets and mechanisms in the field of neuroinflammation with a focus on microglia biology.

As a Research Associate on the Neuroscience team, a typical day might include:
  • Studying microglial biology, therapeutic modalities, and/or therapeutic targets using in vivo and in vitro approaches
  • Designing and conducting experiments in mice to support the development of new therapeutics for neuro-inflammatory conditions, including mouse handling, injection of viral vectors and other compounds, and dissecting tissues for analysis
  • Designing and conducting cell-culture based experiments
  • Analyzing mouse tissue and cultured cells using ELISA, Western blotting, Immunofluorescence, qPCR, and other related techniques
  • Reading current literature to further develop expertise and scientific/technical knowledge and skill sets
  • Performing data analysis and troubleshooting under minimal direction
  • Participating in group and departmental meetings; presenting data

To be considered for this opportunity, you must have a bachelor's degree in a field related to biomedicine, with at least 2 years of lab experience. Applicants should be proficient in working with mice, including injections (intraperitoneal, subcutaneous, intrahippocampal), perfusion, and tissue collection. Experience with behavioral studies is a plus. Applicants with experience in a range of molecular and cellular biology techniques including mammalian cell culturing, immunohistochemistry, ELISA, and Western blot are preferred. Experience with fluorescent microscopy is highly desirable.
