Job Description
Ambagon Therapeutics is an early stage biotechnology company dedicated to the discovery and development of small molecules stabilizing the interaction between adaptor proteins and their disease-promoting client proteins. Our academic founders are the world leaders in this novel approach and launched Ambagon with a mission to provide new therapies for unmet needs in oncology. This role is an opportunity to join San Francisco-based Ambagon as an early employee, bringing your scientific talent and passion to build the company.

Ambagon has an immediate opening for a Research Associate, Cancer Biology . The successful candidate will have an integral role in the planning and conduct of experiments that support Ambagon's drug discovery efforts, including:

· Develop cell-based assays for compound evaluation and selectivity

· Engineer cell lines to assess drug targets of interest

· Screen compounds for activity in cellular assays

· Conduct experiments to assess drug candidate mechanism of action

· Conduct experiments to validate the therapeutic hypothesis for each drug target

· Use scientific literature as a resource for experimental design and assay development

· Collaborate and interact with colleagues to complete assigned research projects

· Maintain clear and up-to-date experimental records

· Perform other duties as assigned

Research Associate applicants should have the following qualifications:

· BS in biology, molecular biology, cell biology, biochemistry or a related field

· 1-3 years of experience in cancer research or drug discovery in a biotech industry setting

· Hands-on experience in mammalian cell culture required

· Detail-oriented with excellent record keeping and organizational skills

· Strong written and oral communication skills

· Demonstrated technical proficiency in molecular cell biology

· Ability to multi-task with time management of daily activities

· Flexibility within a fast-moving start up environment

· Collaborative and team-oriented outlook
