QC Microbiologist Manager

Interpret and apply regulatory guidance and industry standards in the QC microbiology department at Lifecore.

They will lead the QC Microbiology team to ensure QC Microbiology testing is performed accurately and in a timely manner to meet internal target dates and batch ship dates.

They will manage and lead the QC Microbiology staff to ensure accurate, reproducible, and timely QC testing in support of manufacturing; ensure staff members are adequately and appropriately trained and developed; lead investigations and improvements within the laboratory; manage resources required to test products in accordance with requirements in a cost effective manner; serve as QC microbiology representative in support of external customer relationships, and both internal and external audits; drive continuous improvement of microbiology test methods and lab processes, and contribute to a progressive quality culture.

Need to have experience from the medical device or pharmaceutical industry. Prefer a candidate with experience in an aseptic environment but this isn't required. The 2 main things are leadership and communication skills.

Want someone with manager-level experience (will be responsible for 1 supervisor, 2 leads, and 17 QC microbiologists).

Need to have experience managing a microbiology testing lab.

Monday - Friday with flexible hours (core hours are from 9am - 3pm)

Requirements: Minimum of 10 years' experience in lab applications in the pharmaceutical, medical device, or similarly related industry with 3+ years in a supervisory role.

5+ years experience in Microbiology lab applications in a GMP environment.

Hands on experience in quality control testing and/or troubleshooting out of specification results. Experience in microbial monitoring program designs and trending/data analysis with regulated audit experience preferred.
