Microbiology Lab Technician

A North American leader in food processing and production is seeking a Microbiology Lab Technician to join its team in the Grand Rapids, MI, area. Microbiology Lab Technician

• Perform microbiological, physical, and chemical tests on raw materials, in process products, and finished products
• Reporting and analyzing lab data, line audits, calibration and sanitation of lab equipment
• Work with production, quality, packaging, and sanitation staff as needed
• Other tasks as assigned

Microbiology Lab Technician

• College coursework or degree in food science, chemistry, or biology highly preferred
• Ability to learn and follow standardized procedures in order to ensure accuracy
• Experience with Microsoft Office and ERP systems
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present information in a clear, concise, manner while building relationships with stakeholders at all levels of the organization
• An inherent sense of urgency to drive great results while being precise in executing work
• A customer-focused (internal and external) mindset, with the ability to collaborate in cross-functional teams
• Ability to work independently without direct supervision
• Time management skills to organize daily planning and monthly activities and meet deadlines
• Ability to shift priorities quickly without losing attention to detail
• Able and willing to work overtime when needed
