Position Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated Research Associate to play a key role in technology development at Iridia by contributing to Iridia's protein biology R&D. The individual will be responsible for conducting experiments, producing materials and performing assays focusing on protein biology. This position will interact closely with other team members to help drive the success of Iridia's technology platform.

How you will contribute:

• Express, purify and QC proteins for use in our systems
• Assist in summarizing and analyzing results to provide feedback to the relevant team(s)
• Carefully maintain up-to-date documentation of all laboratory activities in electronic format
• Maintain reagent and equipment stocks as needed
• Assist in conceiving and planning of experiments
• Troubleshoot equipment and procedures
• Perform additional job-related duties as required

Required Qualifications:

• Be willing and able to learn new technology and skills, including protein expression, purification, enzyme assays and DNA synthesis
• Bachelor's degree in Biochemistry, Biology, Biological Sciences, or related field
• Must be organized, detail oriented and meticulous in following set protocols and record keeping
• Ability to multitask and meet deadlines in a fast-paced production environment
• Good computer skills including proficiency with Microsoft Office
• Team player with a positive outlook
• Self-motivated with a "hands-on" mindset
• High degree of organization, communication, and ability to effectively prioritize tasks

Desired Qualifications:

• Experience with protein purification using AKTA is a plus
• Experience in manufacturing environment is a plus
• 1-2 years Industry experience
