Our laboratory is characterizing stem cells and their behavior in the epidermis, with a view to manipulating stem cell divisions as a novel therapeutic approach for cutaneous diseases, including aging, psoriasis, atopic dermatitis, and cancer. Our lab work is directly translational and we work with human specimens and mouse models of disease. The techniques the incoming researcher will utilize include actively used techniques in our laboratory: live cell imaging, molecular biology, single cell RNAseq, RT-PCR, immunofluorescence/immunohistochemistry, microscopy, flow cytometry and sorting, ELISA.
