About the Team

Fanatics Betting & Gaming (FBG) is Fanatics' official entrance into the global online sports gambling and iGaming industry. FBG will enable a dynamic, tech-infused omnichannel sports betting experience across both digital and physical retail outlets that utilizes Fanatics' database of more than 81 million reachable fans, as well as a trusted, recognizable brand name that has forged more than 900 partnerships within the sports industry and beyond. Matt King, former CEO of FanDuel and one of the most strategic and innovative minds across the industry, is CEO of the new gambling and gaming business. The company will also create a robust online casino offering which will be seamlessly integrated throughout the mobile sports betting platform.

What you'll do
  • Act as a primary point of contact for the Business to escalate fraud issues
  • Ownership and management of fraud rules, scores, and detection strategies, Risk appetite execution, POS interdiction strategies and defect analysis
  • Operational responsibility of anti-fraud initiatives, payment service provider (PsP) relationship management, player payment processing protocol, case history review and submission of suspicious activity report(s) (SAR), creation and management of policies related to payment document verification and Know Your Customer Protocol (KYC)
  • Maintain strong awareness of industry trends so this can be effectively communicated to the Business
  • Actively monitor and understand the latest fraud performance trends, quickly responding to lead mitigation of risk and communicate these trends and actions to the Business and Fraud senior management.
  • Along with others, work with the Business to understand and assess new projects for fraud risk.
  • Make recommendations for appropriate controls which will maximize return on investment and optimize fraud loss and operating expense at their respective lowest levels.
  • Evaluate potential control enhancements which will improve business controls or reduce impacts to good customers.
  • Articulate the value of projects and overall approach to fraud related issues to senior management, Global Fraud partners, and the Business.
  • Partner with Operations, Analytics and Process Integration Teams to coordinate actions to address Business issues.
  • Support the Control group in the evaluation and management of Global policies and standards, regulatory requirements, and issue management.
  • Produce regular performance reporting for stakeholders to coordinate actions and mitigation plans.
  • Assist in managing peer reviews and audits, and effectively lead governance routines.
  • Successfully develop, coach and motivate a small team of highly skilled Policy & Fraud Managers.

  • Bachelor's/University degree or equivalent experience, potentially Masters degree and managerial experience
  • 10 +years in an e-commerce or banking risk and fraud leadership role or equivalent combination of education, training and experience
  • Work knowledge of the laws applicable to money laundering, including the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), The USA Patriot Act, OFAC, FinCEN requirements, and Suspicious Activity Report (SAR) requirements
  • Detailed experience of online Poker, online Casino, online Sportsbook, and all platform variants preferred
  • Demonstrable track record of effective leadership of large, and culturally diverse teams in a fast paced, technology driven environment
  • Knowledge of, and experience using, proprietary online gaming Fraud, Payments, Gaming and Sportsbook tools, systems and reports preferred
  • An entrepreneurial spirit and are excited by the challenges that come along with building a disruptive and dynamic business
  • Exceptional communication skills both written and verbal. Ability to articulate business performance, key strategies, and regular updates into Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, and Outlook) that tell a powerful story.
  • Rigorous attention to detail and highly organized, but able to operate with ease at all levels (from strategy to execution).
  • Deep empathy for customer experience - always analyzing and assessing from the customers' viewpoint.
