Job Summary Comcast is seeking a Director of Emerging Technologies to lead cross-group efforts for the Emerging Technologies and Services group with focus on driving idea management from idea, to POC to handoff.
The successful applicant will be responsible for coordinating efforts across multiple groups within the larger Comcast organization with a lens to solutions that are three to five years on the horizon. This will include driving and managing a number of programs and processes that support this.
Job Description Specific Responsibilities
Work with key stakeholders within the organization to shape and refine an idea management intake process from ideation to POC to handoff of solutions
Execute on and oversee the ETS intake process. Manage and drive the overall intake process and propose refinements as necessary
Work with key stakeholders within other parts of the organization to crystalize and document concepts for new innovative ideas
Manage and drive the day to day flow of engagement and activities with the DE/Fellows program that foster research and innovation in new areas.
Manage the successful creation of an environment to share knowledge across the larger organization. This includes research, trends, conference reports to name a few.
Manage the coverage and read outs for standards bodies and their respective working groups.
Drive the Lab Week Innovation program
Oversee Portfolio Management. This includes project coordination with internal and external groups
Manage day to day interactions with Lift Labs
Provide status updates and keep track of projects flowing through the process. This includes proving visibility to the larger org on any active projects or POCs.
Interface with all levels including senior management
Communication and issue management
Identify and remove impediments in a timely and cost effective manner
Coordinate with various teams to identify risks and to clear roadblocks.
Facilitate communication within the team and with the key stakeholders.
Other duties as assigned

Required Skills and Experience
Strong grasp of technologies - the position requires working directly with engineering teams
Demonstrated accountability of project level decision making, risk management, mitigation.
Ability to build relationships quickly whether locally or remote across all disciplines including but not limited to development, product, test engineering, operations, customer support and customer care.
Knowledge of Teams, Jira, Confluence, Excel and other Project Management Software Tools
Excellent communication skills at all organizational levels including executive levels
Experience proactively managing complex technical projects.
Demonstrated leadership and interpersonal skills
Demonstrated ability to create and drive processes with a lens to ongoing process improvements
Self-motivated with good time management skills; ability to handle and adapt to changing priorities and special projects
Travel
Some travel may be required
