The Product Development Director role will lead the product development process from ideation to launch for the entire brand portfolio of daily essentials, with a focus on personal and skin care. The ideal candidate must be a pro at project management with a sophisticated taste level and has a broad network in beauty sector to leverage for packaging and product innovations, category research, product development and contract manufacturing.

What you'll do:

• Oversee the product development lifecycle from concept to launch, while ensuring on-time delivery of critical project milestones, budgets, and quality control goals.
• Work with CEO/founder to bring her vision to life, balancing cost and commercial requirements.
• Facilitate day-to-day communications and manage timelines with existing suppliers and manufacturers focusing on in building strong and trusted relationships with overseas and domestic partners.
• Define the future product roadmap and optimize current product portfolio in accordance with brand development philosophy.
• Lead communication with cross-functional departments on product briefs, copy, artwork, packaging briefs, formula feedback and timelines.
• Work with marketing & creative teams on packaging design and copy that creates an on-brand experience.

· Partner with creative on packaging handover ensuring specs and detailed product information is correct, problem solving any pre-production issues.

• Partner with CFO/COO to manage and negotiate product costs and suggest retail pricing.
• Spearhead market, competitive, scientific & industry research relevant to development process.
• Support international registration processes, including compliant artwork and claims creation.

· Ensure product quality is delivered to spec by contract manufacturers.

• Identify, create and manage relationships with new and existing manufacturing partners.
• Follow up as needed to ensure all samples and orders are being properly shipped and arriving on schedule.
• Work with wholesale sales and DTC teams to forecast and meet product inventory needs.
• you are:
• Product centric person with a strong sense of curiosity and problem solving.
• Have 7+ years of full-time experience as a product developer preferably in beauty or personal care.
• Strong understanding of natural and elevated product compositions and ingredients and scents for personal care and beauty/skincare market.
• Experience working with domestic and global manufacturers and suppliers
• Ability to work in a collaborative team environment and communicate cross functionally with all levels of the organization
• Demonstrates ability to juggle and prioritize multiple tasks and projects simultaneously and successfully. Is a doer- not just a director
• Possesses strong project management skills: one who thinks ahead and anticipates needs-you're never satisfied with the status quo, always thinking "how can we do this better?
• Hard working with a "no task is too small" attitude
• Operates as a "partner" / in it together and naturally builds relationships with internal teams and external manufacturing partners
• Comfortable working independently, but also knows when to ask for help
• Enjoy working in a fast-paced and energetic environment
• A passionate ambassador of the brand and has experience in natural based and sustainability focused products and packaging
