We have an exciting opportunity for an Associate Director North America to join our ever expanding Immunology & Immunotoxicology (I&I) team in Madison, WI. This senior-level position in the I&I group:
  • Serves as key North American contact with clients for I&I partnering with Sales, Science, Operations, Safety Assessment, Metabolism & Lead Optimization (SAMLO) Leadership, and Clinical Pharmacology Services Leadership as appropriate.
  • Identifies opportunities for strategic North American I&I relationships with Covance clients, and works with Business Development to manage these relationships.
  • Leads a talented and dedicated team across multiple sites in North America and contributes to Global I&I strategic initiatives as appropriate.
  • Leads a team including full range of recruitment activities, performance evaluation activities, schedules work, prepares training plans, and executes Affirmative Action goals in department.
  • Responsibility for financial and business process oversight.

Required: PhD with managerial and preclinical/clinical and regulatory experience.

Minimum of 5 years in Biomedical/CRO Sciences of which at least a majority of years must be in a supervisory/managerial capacity. Preferred direct experience leading I&I Scientific and commercial and operational laboratory activities or equivalent within contract research organization or pharmaceutical or biotechnical companies.

Preferred experience in flow cytometry, ImmunoAssay, BioAnalytical, Cell and Molecular Biology and instrument and assay validation in Immunology field.

  • Strong immunology/immunotoxicology background, both scientific and technical
  • Prior experience in Immunology / Immunotoxicology procedures, with knowledge of method development, and validation required.
  • Knowledge of immunotoxicology study design and conduct.
  • Knowledge of GLP & GCPand regulatory agency guidelines.
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • A ptitude for teambuilding, leading teams and developing people.
  • Knowledge in planning, negotiation, and process innovation.
  • Demonstrated ability to interact effectively with all staff and management levels.
  • Demonstrated problem solving and decision making skills.
  • Strong English writing and communication skills.
  • Skilled in performing scientific presentations and preparing scientific publications.
  • Advanced knowledge of computers and programs (e.g., word processing and spreadsheet applications).
  • Demonstrated ability to interact effectively with all staff and management levels.
  • Skilled in making presentations.
