Job Description
The Global HEMA Senior Manager is part of Health Economics and Market Access and the position works closely with the Endoscopic Solutions Divisions (ESD) and/or Therapeutic Solutions Division (TSD) business units to ensure competitive advantage and market access of the Olympus products and systems. The incumbent will develop and execute a global value-based market access strategy that integrates health economics, reimbursement, outcomes research and market access solutions across all product stages and lifecycles.

Job Duties

  • Serves as a strategic lead for assigned ESD/TSD business units by providing strategic and technical HEMA expertise and leadership for the platform of products and services.


  • Works to ensure market access requirements are understood and built into product development and that economic value propositions reflect the needs of non-clinical stakeholders.


  • Develops health economic/reimbursement/market access strategies with minimal supervision


  • Leads development and execution of lifecycle economic evidence and market access strategies that enable favorable reimbursement and commercial success.


  • Works collaboratively with regional HEMA teams to identify requirements for evidence and potential barriers to access.


  • Works with regional HEMA teams to secure positive endorsement when applicable from HTA agencies and leads the coordination of responses to HTA committee requests to demonstrate product value.


  • Champions the payer/ providers from a value requirement perspective by consolidating and refining requirements from regional and key geography partners.


  • Drives evidence generation from clinical programs and real-world evidence sources to substantiate and sustain product value proposition.


  • Partners with regions and key geographies to ensure value messages are clearly communicated and supported by appropriate tools and evidence.


  • Leads the strategic planning and execution of health economic, reimbursement strategy and outcomes studies to support the business and direct the development of global market access strategies in support of ESD/TSD business units.


  • Manages research activities that include but are not limited to burden of illness, retrospective database studies, creation of global economic models and value messaging, patient reported outcomes development and analysis, interpretation of economic, satisfaction and QoL endpoints and results


  • Leads market access activities that include but are not limited to assessing market access needs/trends and developing required market access strategies to optimize market access and commercial success.


  • Accountable for the development, management and tracking of HEMA goals & objectives global and local budgets.


  • Duties as assigned.


Job Requirements

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Required: Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience.


  • Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in the healthcare industry with experience working from strategy development to execution and value creation in a dynamic organization.


  • Minimum of 3 years of direct HEMA experience, including strategy development.


PREFERRED QUALIFCATIONS
  • Advanced degree (MS, MPH, PhD, MHA, MBA, PharmD) in economics, health economics, outcomes research, health services research or public health.


  • Previous track record of leading health economics, reimbursement, HTA projects for medical devices.


  • Demonstrated understanding of medical delivery systems, reimbursement, market access conditions and health policy trends in major global markets.


  • Demonstrated knowledge of the evidence needed to drive favorable reimbursement and market access globally.


  • Significant experience in leading health economic. reimbursement or outcomes research studies from concept through publication.with minimal supervision.


  • Experience in partnering with multiple internal & external stakeholders to deliver against the business unit strategy.


  • Strong knowledge and application of ICH GCP/GxP, global regulations and good document management practices preferred.


  • Ability to think strategically, critically analyze and synthesize complicated data and scientific information.


  • Strong consulting, facilitation, and communication skills bridging between scientific and business priorities, to manage effective international and cross-divisional collaboration.


  • Experience working in a global cross-functional team (functional/matrix) environment and knowledge and/or experience working with groups with varied cultural backgrounds and learning styles is required.


  • Experience in budget and forecasting.


  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization.
