Job Description
Over Night Specimen Processing Laboratory Associate/Technician

PreventionGenetics provides comprehensive germline DNA testing for patients from all over the world. PreventionGenetics provides patients with sequencing and CNV tests for nearly all clinically relevant genes. These tests include our powerful and comprehensive whole exome sequencing test, PGxome. Our test methodology includes NextGen sequencing, Sanger sequencing and aCGH (both gene-centric and CMA). We will be adding genome sequencing to our growning test menu this year. The quality of our testing has always been and continues to be our highest priority.

Due to our continued rapid growth, we are pleased to offer excellent career opportunities for the position of full-time Overnight Specimen Processing Laboratory Associate/Technician

Job Summary: The Specimen Processing Laboratory Associate/Technician will be responsible for processing samples and providing high quality DNA to the downstream laboratories for analysis. The ideal candidate for this role will be a self-starter and motivated individual with a positive, team oriented attitude. The shift for this position will be full time, Tuesday- Thursday with work hours of (Hours). 3 -12 hour Shifts. Paid for 40 hours.

Position Requirements:
  • Associate degree in medical laboratory technology, chemistry, biology, or a related field; Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Experience in processing samples in a laboratory setting is preferred
  • At least one basic course in genetics is preferred
  • Computer skills and experience with Microsoft Office software

Responsibilities:
  • Accession samples into clinical database
  • Extract and purify DNA from various specimen types (both automated and manual)
  • Quantify and properly dilute extracted DNA
  • Prepare, aliquot, and properly store reagents and buffers required for laboratory tasks
