A start-up Biotech in the Clinical Diagnostics space is preparing to launch a breakthrough rapid test used in hospitals to quickly diagnose sepsis. This dynamic, pre-IPO organization has developed first-in-class technology that quickly and accurately analyzes white blood cell structure to identify the presence of infectious diseases. Using precision imaging and machine learning, in less than ten minutes the test can evaluate the presence of sepsis for inpatients, still the leading cause of death in hospitals. We are hiring a Senior Marketing Manager to develop the go-to-market strategy for the product launch in the U.S. If you're looking for an opportunity to help build something that will last - to apply your strategic marketing skills to a business model with a huge upside potential - then we would like to hear from you.

The Role:

The Senior Manager will develop and execute the strategy for the launch of the sepsis test in the Hospital segment, with a focus on Infectious Disease and Emergency Room departments. You will lead the analytics, segmentation, positioning, messaging, and sales force support for the launch. Duties will include market research, agency selection and management, budgeting, forecasting and advocate development among Key Opinion Leaders in the sepsis space. You will also lead the development of marketing-related design deliverables, including packaging, labelling, and branding.

This is a small commercial team so you will "wear many hats" in this broadly defined assignment. The disruptive nature of the technology means this will be a classic market development challenge - identifying barriers to acceptance to a novel idea and developing campaigns and programs to overcome them. Rather than a share shift challenge, much of the job will be focused on driving adoption through clinical education and close work with Key Opinion Leaders at medical conferences and advisory boards. You will develop programs to raise awareness of the clinical benefit and value proposition of the early diagnosis of sepsis.

Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of downstream marketing experience in the clinical diagnostics or medical device industry
  • Experience developing a new market by driving adoption through clinical education and work with Key Opinion Leaders
  • Bachelor's degree or better; MBA or similar advanced degree preferred
  • The desire to work in a small, fast-paced work environment without the trappings of a large, multinational organization


An attractive compensation package for this position includes a highly competitive base salary, an annual bonus based on company and individual performance, and a generous equity package. After COVID restrictions are lifted this position will be ideally based in the San Francisco Bay area; financial assistance is available for relocation support. Highly qualified candidates in the Pacific time zone who cannot relocate but are able to travel frequently to the Bay area will also be considered.
