QC Lab Technician 1 - Site - Germantown, WI

I. Purpose of the position

  • Ensure products meet or exceed customer requirements for quality and food safety.
  • Complete the analysis of raw materials, intermediates, and finished products manufactured or received in Germantown and Waukesha with an emphasis on standard operating procedures and good laboratory practices.
  • Efficiently perform testing as well as data entry.

II. Responsibilities
  • Autonomous analysis required.
  • Accurate and timely data entry of test results.
  • Interpretation of raw data.
  • Ability to utilize aseptic technique and other essential lab skills.
  • Ability to troubleshoot testing issues.
  • Food Safety Management System Support.
  • Weekly auditing of areas through Environmental Monitoring Program; collect samples and test as required.
  • Periodic inspections for GMP compliance such as glass & brittle plastic checks
  • Continuous Improvement.
  • Ensure methods are updated appropriately.
  • Provide occasional weekend and holiday coverage.
  • Maintain the laboratory and equipment in good condition and working order by following accepted laboratory practice and work instructions.

III. Characteristics

  • Bachelor's degree (Microbiology, Biology, Chemistry, or related science)
  • Previous lab experience required. Proven ability to follow written SOPs.
  • Desired: SAP experience, knowledge of food safety and HACCP systems, cultures process and co-products, experience writing of formal documents such as analytical procedures. LIMS a plus.
