A&M's Supply Chain Operations professionals assist our clients in analyzing each part of the supply chain process including: Procurement and Sourcing, Production, Logistics, Distribution and Sales, Inventory and Operations Planning (SI&OP) to identify value creation opportunities, develop a roadmap to accelerate those opportunities and assist with driving them to our client's bottom line. From our thorough fact-based analysis, we assess the state of operations, identify key risks to investment, and quantify potential EBITDA improvement plans.

Job Description:

We are seeking Director Level Procurement & Sourcing subject matter experts in direct Plastics and Resin materials who can lead and deliver project work-streams for complex client engagements, working closely with Private Equity teams to identify, design, and implement creative business solutions for their portfolio companies driving top-line growth and delivering bottom-line value.

* Ten plus years' experience in purchasing/procurement experience within resins, injection moldings, PP or PE or similar commodities
* Demonstrated command of complex sourcing, negotiating, and commodity strategies in the areas of Resins and Plastics including hedging, GPO, consortia, and derivatives
* BS degree in Engineering or Business or equivalent work experience.
* Have existing relationships with major players in the marketplace to understand and stay abreast of industry changes and pricing / technical trends
* Understand and drive the supplier strategy to support qualification of new materials and cross qualify new supply sources
* Ability to analyze market trends (cost drivers and polymers) to identify financial and supply risks and opportunities
* Complete understanding of resin purchase optimization by leveraging spend and pricing methodologies utilized in Resins/Plastics
* Ability to build plastics/resins cost models for new and existing materials and components and compare to prices for similar materials and compounds in client's production (consistent conversion costs, raw material costs, etc.)
* Experience in managing dynamic business environments, where price stability, supply availability, and potential business outcomes are under continuous pressure and change through productivity or related cost-reduction programs
* Influencing the supplier's manufacturing processes, sourcing and technology decisions in ways that are mutually beneficial and sustainable for all stakeholders
* Capable of strong communication and relationship building with R&D/ Product Development
* Understanding of commodity risk management in plastics and/or resins and/or energy
* Previous advisory experience from a top-tier strategy firm or Big-4 consultancy HIGHLY DESIRABLE with MBA preferred
* Professional qualification preferred (CIPS, CIPP, CIAPP, CPSM, CSCP or ISM)
* Experience working for or with private equity sponsors and portfolio companies with a focus on managing/sourcing direct categories
* Commodity hedging experience preferred
* Flexibility to travel up to 80% of the time

Directors lead the following types of workstreams and may be asked to both conduct analysis as well as lead teams to deliver results:

* Gain a comprehensive understanding of a client's procurement organization and strategic sourcing capabilities
* Effectively perform analysis and/or lead teams to conduct analysis depending on project scope
* Develop and implement supply chain strategies to meet growth and financial objectives through effective integration of sourcing with forecasting, demand/supply planning, inventory management, and distribution & logistics
* Develop and manage efforts in sourcing and procurement implementations to include supplier identification, supply chain mapping, contract/pricing negotiations and vendor relations
* Strong quantitative and analytical skills with understanding of key component breakdown and cost drivers - capable of value engineering and development of "Should Cost Models"
* Develop implementation plans to drive proposed changes in procurement and sourcing initiatives synergistically with other supply chain areas to optimize client value and drive durable savings to their bottom line
* Evaluate client's organizational structure, team talent, processes, P2P, tools, and software for full procurement operations assessment
