Who we are:
ReviR Therapeutics is an early-stage biotech company focusing on the discovery and development of novel medicines directly targeting RNA to treat human disease. We are an interdisciplinary team of scientists working at the forefront of machine learning and RNA biology to reach disease targets previously considered "undruggable" by leveraging the inherent biology embedded within RNA. If you are passionate about RNA biology, excited by early-stage drug discovery, and enjoy problem solving, this position is right for you.
Position Description:
Our RNA Biology team in the San Francisco Bay Area is seeking a Research Associate with a background in molecular and/or cellular biology to join our efforts to discover novel RNA-targeted therapeutics and aid in mechanistic studies. Employing cutting edge techniques, you will contribute to our RNA therapeutics pipeline, partake in proof-of-concept studies on small molecule candidates, and advance mechanistic understanding of small molecule therapeutic candidates in disease models. The successful candidate will be self-motivated, have experience in RNA biology techniques, be well versed in RNA processing and regulation, and have a desire to drive research in a new therapeutic area in a start-up environment.
Responsibilities:
Requirements:
· B.S./M.S. in Biology, Biochemistry, Biomedical Sciences or related field with 2+ years of academic and/or industry experience. Experience working with nucleic acids is required
· Proficiency in mammalian cell culture and cell-based assays. Experience with primary cell culture is a plus
· Experience with molecular biology techniques including cloning, in vitro transcription, RNA purification and characterization, and NGS is strongly preferred
· Critical thinking, problem solving skills, and ability to work independently are preferred
· Highly organized individual with attention to detail and a strong desire to learn
· Experience with CRISPR/Cas9 technology is a plus but not required
