Job Title: Product Scientific Specialist - I (Assistant)

Location: 351 North Sumneytown Pike PO Box 1000, North Wales, PA 19454

12 Month Contract

Remote work until COVID and then would be Onsite, Local candidates preferred: NJ/NY/PA,

Promotional review experience is invaluable and highly preferred.,

Education in PharmD/PHD, Will consider Master's candidate with relevant experience

JOB DESCRIPTION:
  • The GMI Senior Specialist is an entry-level headquarters-based role within Global Medical Affairs, who is responsible for the 3 global core functions of the GMI group:
  • Medical Information (e.g., customizing medical information letters to respond to U.S. HCP inquiries, handling of escalated complex global HCP inquiries, etc),
  • Medical/Scientific Review of U.S., and HQ-created globally used Promotional Materials,
  • Medical Education and Training of frontline personnel (e.g., U.S. Call Center) on Merck products and associated disease states.
  • The GMI Senior Specialist has an advanced educational background (PharmD, PhD, MS in Life Sciences) and reports into the Director, Team Lead, GMI.


Qualifications:
  • Qualifications-Required Education Advanced degree (PharmD, PhD, MS in Life Sciences) that is relevant to the requirements of the position


Required Experience and Skills:
  • Some knowledge and therapeutic area experience in Oncology
  • Some work experience in Medical Information and/or Medical/Scientific Review of promotional materials in the biotech/pharmaceutical or healthcare environment
  • Strong knowledge of clinical trial methodology, statistical concepts, and evaluation and interpretation of complex scientific literature
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Organizational and prioritization skills


Preferred Experience and Skills:
  • Deep experience working in Medical Information and/or prior biotech/pharmaceutical industry experience
  • Advanced knowledge and therapeutic area experience in Oncology
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and systems for Medical Information and Promotional Review
  • Negotiation skills for interaction with cross-functional teams


SKILLS
  • Strong knowledge of clinical trial methodology, statistical concepts, and evaluation and interpretation of complex scientific literature
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Organizational and prioritization skills Explain what a day in the life of these workers would look like.
