The Role:Come help design, deliver, and optimize the products that help produce some of the most important semiconductor devices in the world. Be a part of a team and organization that is pushing the boundaries of chemical manufacturing and analytical chemistry!
Entegris is currently seeking a talented and innovative Continuous Improvement Analytical Scientist to join its Analytical Services Organization in Burnet, TX.
In this role you will be responsible for developing and leading a culture of Continuous Improvement and efficiency across Specialty Chemicals and Engineered Materials (SCEM) division Analytical Services laboratories located in Burnet, TX. This individual will define a multi-year continuous roadmap to drive standardization and sustainability for Analytical Services across our Burnet, TX manufacturing site. The ideal candidate will be results oriented and an excellent team player, with solid knowledge of project management, chemistry, materials science & physics, and familiarity with semiconductor device materials, structures, and metrology.In this role you will:
  • Identify and implement the best analytical testing methods, quality systems, validation processes and compliance practices for the SCEM Analytical Services group in Burnet, TX
  • Develop and validate analytical methods and testing practices to support continuous improvement activities
  • Ensure Analytical Services and Quality SOPs are compliant with industry best practices
  • Assure periodic enhancements and continuous improvement activities meet requirements of stakeholders
  • Lead assessment, continuous improvement, and harmonization initiatives as needed and as assigned by senior leadership
  • Experience leading implementation teams to ensure projects are delivered on time
  • Prepare business cases supporting enhancements to testing equipment and secure funding for such projects
  • Develop implementation strategies to ensure efficient kick off and utilization for key analytical and quality systems components
  • Recommend CapEx for new equipment
  • Supports internal and external audits, and proactively formulates plans and working groups to close gaps found from those audits
  • Leads development of employees through training, meetings, and setting and achieving performance expectations
  • Provide strategic expertise to development, deployment, and maintenance of global analytical quality systems processes and holds accountability for these decisions
  • Drive reductions in the number and severity of complaints and excursions
  • Assure systems are in place so that appropriate root cause analysis and corrective actions are taken to completely address any nonconformance or quality related excursion
  • Train, coach and motivate personnel in the understanding and adoption of continuous improvement principles and techniques
  • Drive the standardization of processes and the implementation of metrics and best practices
  • Lead and influence change in a highly-matrixed, global organization
Traits we believe make a strong candidate:
  • A minimum of a Master's degree in Analytical Chemistry, Chemistry, Physics or related field of study required; Ph.D. preferred
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in relative roles; at least 2 years of experience in a production/manufacturing environment
  • General lab instrument (HPLC, IC, GC, ICP-MS, ICP-AES) operations and maintenance experience; ICP-MS experience strongly preferred
  • Prior experience working in a chemical/gas manufacturing environment preferred
  • Strong expertise in chemical analysis related to blended cleans and advanced deposition materials
  • Experience with applicable quality tools such as pareto, FMEA's, SPC/SQC, histograms, trend analysis, process mapping, design of experiments, cause and effect diagrams, 8D problem solving methodology
  • Ability to design and lead cultural change and continuous improvements projects
  • Highly motivated with ability to build and maintain productive relationships cross-functionally
  • An agent for change who thrives in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment
  • Experience with internal and external audits and developing plans to close gaps found during audits
  • Demonstrated problem solving skills with a passion for learning and teaching
  • Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams
  • Knowledge of proper safe handling/disposal of chemicals and ability to maintain a clean and safe workspace
  • Mandarin or Korean language skills is a plus, but not required
  • Ability to travel 15% of time, some international
Your success will be measured by:
  • Ability to conduct projects independently and navigate ambiguity
  • Developing and improving analytical test methods and processes that result in lower variability and increase the robustness of the test methods
  • Collaboration with Burnet Analytical Services Management on role mapping to create ground up approach to analytical method, and quality systems implementation, through optimization on training programs and curricula
  • Collaboration with cross functional teams to ensure new and emerging process & data needs are identified and planned for on the SCEM Analytical Services Technology Roadmap
  • Preparation of reports and presentations to communicate issues and resolutions to ensure support of stakeholders; and providing advice related to metrics, content, systems, and processes
  • Demonstrated ability to work on multiple projects in parallel
  • Proven ability to work in a cross-cultural and cross-language team environment
  • Providing direction and oversight on implementation of electronic content, including but not limited to: LabWare LIMS, SAP, & EtQ
