Our location in Pomona, CA currently has an opportunity for a Senior Bioconjugation Chemist. Are you an innovative Organic Chemist in the field of bioconjugation? This position is responsible for technical manufacturing operations and performing laboratory analytical tasks. The Sr. Chemist will support both Technical Operations (Manufacturing) and/or Design Development as required.

  • Drug enzyme conjugations for Design Development of HEIA and / or ELISA products including preparation of buffers.
  • Conjugations of small molecules to enzymes, proteins and peptides for production of reagents in support of various immunoassay diagnostic product platforms.
  • Organic synthesis of small molecule derivatives for conjugation.
  • In-process testing of enzyme conjugates using absorbance readers and / or chemistry analyzers.
  • Designs and develops new processes for smooth transfer from R&D to technical manufacturing operations.
  • Assists in transfer and qualification of analytical methods, including assay execution and final report writing.
  • Mentors junior chemists in the bioconjugation laboratory.
  • Complies with standard operating procedures, analyzes and maintains data per applicable SOP's.
  • Documents activities in a cGMP manner.
  • Company Quality Management System per ISO, FDA and other regulatory agencies.
  • Independently designs and executes experiments to develop and characterize bioconjugation processes in support of diagnostic assay research and development.
  • Applies advanced multi-disciplinary analytical techniques for the characterization of proteins and bioconjugates.
  • Presents results regularly at team meetings and internal technology reviews as well as publications as appropriate.
  • Conjugation of small molecules to enzymes and proteins for ELISA, HEIA, SEFRIA and other products.
  • Drug protein conjugations for lateral flow platforms.
  • Analyzes and maintains data per applicable SOP's.
  • Performs investigation and resolution of out-of-spec events.
  • Maintains effectiveness of the Quality System.
  • Understands and is aware of the quality consequences which may occur from the improper performance of their specific job; has awareness of device defects that may occur in their area of responsibility, including product design, verification and validation, manufacturing and testing activities.
  • Has a current CLS License and keeps up with the updates in the industry standards.


  • B.S. in Chemistry/Biochemistry or equivalent experience.
  • 8+ years of experience in a laboratory environment.

  • Previous work experience in a chemical diagnostics laboratory position.
  • CLS License in the State of California.
  • Previous work experience in a cGMP environment.
  • Experience of at least 3 years in conjugation of small molecules to enzymes and proteins for ELISA, HEIA, SEFRIA and other products.
