This Director role within the OptumRx Product and Strategy team will be responsible for the market management and profitable growth of assigned product suites in the OptumRx product portfolio with focus on specific client groups. Scope of work includes developing market-specific expertise and the design, development, management, and sun-setting of new, existing and acquisition products.

This role is focused on OptumRx Market Solutions, broad PBM offerings that are designed meet the specific needs of clients in multiple markets, with particular focus on understanding market conditions and anticipating client needs.

This role will interface with OptumRx functional partners, customers, sales, and client management teams to design, develop and commercially launch product solutions for new and existing customers across multiple market segments. This role with also interact with client and consultant partners. Skills the role must leverage include strategic thinking, understanding patient and client needs, quantitative analysis, collaboration, decision-making, and leadership.

This role is expected to partner effectively with business leadership, sales, marketing, finance, and other functional areas; and lead cross-functional teams to develop and launch new or enhanced products. The intent of this work will be to improve client satisfaction, drive affordability and differentiate OptumRx products with a focus on Government Programs, Medicare and Medicaid

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Development of the go-to-market and sales strategies for new products, with a focus on the health plans and the Government segment
  • Manage client pipeline and roadmap for strategic product launches and growth initiatives
  • Manage market results and communicate the value of products for internal and external stakeholders, including client and prospective client presentations
  • Lead creation of go-to-market materials in collaboration with marketing, product owners, and segment-focused partners
  • Lead market research to help define product positioning, strengths, and opportunities
  • Navigate and build relationships across multiple cross-functional teams in a complex, matrix work environment
  • Manage cross-segment projects and initiatives that require problem solving, relationship building, influencing and analyzing

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 4+ years of product management/product development experience and/or sales or client management experience with strong interest in product
  • 3+ years of Pharmacy/PBM experience
  • Government Programs (Medicare and Medicaid) and/or highly regulated programs experience
  • Proficiency with MS Office applications including PowerPoint presentation skills
  • Ability to travel up to 25%

  • MBA
  • Sales, client management or product experience

Colorado, Connecticut or Nevada Residents Only: The salary range for Colorado residents is $79,700 to $142,600. The salary range for Connecticut / Nevada residents is $87,900 to $156,900. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
