Job DescriptionHighly successful local Biotech is currently seeking a motivated research professional that will be a key member of the molecular engineering team and support the development of methods to characterize and understand stem cell therapy. Candidate is highly desired to have hands-on experience or exposure to standard molecular biology techniques (DNA/RNA extraction, DNA/RNA quantification, dilutions, PCR, gel electrophoresis, restriction digests).

• Successful development and execution of aspects of the molecular laboratory clinical assay processes, including, but not limited to:
o DNA/RNA extraction (variable techniques)
o Nucleic acid quantification and qualification via QuBit, NanoDrop, and TapeStation
o Traditional PCR, qPCR, and ddPCR
o Gel electrophoresis and restriction digests
• Perform experiments in the laboratory with proficiency and competency under general guidance from direct supervisor
• Common supply ordering/receiving and inventory management • Assist in workspace organization
• Document experimental progress in laboratory notebooks
• Perform additional duties as needed

• B.S. degree with 2+ years' relevant experience in a laboratory; industry experience preferred
• Demonstrated knowledge and hands-on experience of standard molecular biology techniques
• Excellent organizational skills with record keeping abilities
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Comfortable in a fast-paced small company environment and able to adjust workload based upon changing priorities

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements
• Will require working with blood and cell lines of human and animal origin

• Occasional evening and weekend work will be required
