PRICING ANALYST - LTL PRICING - 3PL PRICING - COSTING

PRICING ANALYST - LTL PRICING - 3PL PRICING - COSTING
PURPOSE
To review and analyze opportunities presented by customers for the movement of their freight and to ensure the business we handle is profitable and within the guidelines set forth by the Company
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
* Analyze incoming data of pricing requests from customer bids or opportunities submitted by sales reps and determine a pricing offer at an acceptable profitability level.
* Work pricing opportunities on both the LTL and Supply Chain sides of the business which are under one umbrella.
* Complete pricing for incoming Bid requests through a single lens: Analyze data and collaborate with Carrier Management team to determine which POTG operating company or extended network provider is suited to provide the best solution - and then work up the solution.
* Regularly collaborate with sales team and work directly with customers (by video conference and possible face-to-face sales calls) to discuss data analysis and create solutions to their transportation problems.
* Collaborate with Enterprise Sales Team on negotiation strategies to complete Price Expirations on time.
* Able to react to change productively and handle other essential tasks as assigned.
OTHER DUTIES
* Complete quarterly profitability evaluation for on-boarded business
* Collaborate with Enterprise Sales Team to on-board additional business by "Selling Deeper"
* Leverage data to target opportunities which will help PITT OHIO and the POTG network minimize lane imbalances and improve profitability with their linehaul networks
* Provide assistance to various Departments with escalated issues or concerns.
* Review contract issues and take exceptions into consideration when determining a pricing strategy

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
* Excellent math and analytical skills required
* Ability to apply logic to solve problems
* Knowledge of MS Office applications preferred - experience with Excel required
* Bachelor's degree in math, finance, or economics preferred but not required
* Ability to interact with a variety of people including sales personal and customers
* Experience with pricing/costing models intransportationindustry and with third party logistics companies preferred
* Command of written and spoken English language to communicate with internal and external customers
WORKING CONDITIONS
* Sedentary work - exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of forces frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push pull, or otherwise move objects including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time; walking and standing are only required occasionally.
* Close visual acuity is required to perform activities such as preparing and analyzing data and figures, viewing computer terminal, and extensive reading
* Typical exposure to interior environmental conditions like air conditioning and dust; no substantial exposure to adverse environmental conditions
* Manual dexterity is regularly required including fingering, grasping, and typing; manual dexterity includes repetitive motion of the wrists, hands, and fingers
* Talking and hearing required to communication with and listen to others to share or receive information. May be occasionally exposed to noise including telephone, office machinery, and conversations of others
