What You'll Do:

The National Director of Nursing Operations (NDNO) reports to the COO of Nursing and supervises the National Manager of Academic Operations, the National Manager of Gen Ed Operations, the National Manager of Nursing Labs, and other Core Nursing colleagues as needed. The NDNO also collaborates closely with the National Academic Affairs team to establish new academic policies and ensure effective execution of academic policies on each Nursing campus.

This is an excellent opportunity for a strong clinician with skills in operational excellence. The NDNO will provide operational oversight of the delivery of the Core curriculum and resources.
  • Serves as mentor to all DONs, orienting them to Nursing policies and SOPs, and ensuring alignment across all nursing campuses in the following areas:
    • Student acceptance into the program
    • Development of Core schedules, including Clinical schedules
    • Clinical coordination, evaluating the appropriateness of facilities and curricular experiences
    • Castle Branch/Complio management
    • Simulation and skills labs equipment, supplies, processes
    • Faculty hiring and development
    • Faculty workload
    • Student advisement
    • Adjunct faculty management
    • Health & Safety Orientation
    • BON rules/regs/Nurse Practice Act
    • Classroom observations
    • Program effectiveness data reporting
    • Compliance with completion of learning assessment tools
    • Adherence to academic policy and standards.
  • Monitors cross-campus compliance with ABHES requirements for faculty professional development, credentials (appropriateness), distance ed.
  • Monitors Core Nursing metrics across the campuses, including attrition, ATI results, grades, student evaluation, employee satisfaction, employment. Works with the campuses to develop solutions/address gaps identified.
  • Convenes regular meetings with DONs, reviewing process updates and Core nursing metrics, and identifying best practices for potential cross-campus adoption.
  • Works closely with the National Manager of GE Ops to ensure appropriate alignment of the liberal arts and nursing curricula, facilitate joint in-service offerings, hold regular joint meetings, and provide updates for each department at least quarterly.
  • Works collaboratively with the National Director of Nursing Labs to ensure the sim/skills labs are properly maintained and meet standards regarding level and type of equipment.
  • Regularly assesses policies and procedures to ensure clarity and consistency in practice across campuses.
  • Works collaboratively with the national ops and academics teams to ensure effective integration of Core and GE policies and processes.
  • Manages direct reports, including conducting 1:1s, Quarterly Check-Ins, Performance Management, and offering Training and Development. Focused on achieving high employee satisfaction.
  • Participates in candidate selection process for DONs.

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
  • Master's degree in Nursing, doctorate preferred
  • Five years' combined teaching and administrative experience in Nursing education
  • Current unencumbered State Registered Nursing license
