The Senior Content Strategist will partner with a diverse range of business and creative teams across the enterprise to develop and deliver new, end-to-end human-centered mental and behavioral health care design experiences across dozens of touchpoints and millions of members.

This person will have deep experience as a copywriter and strategist who can craft relevant, compelling and conversational content that meets consumer mental and behavioral health care needs and drives behavior change. To achieve this, the person will work closely with business, product and research partners, along with their fellow UX creative team members. The successful candidate will possess formidable skill in the areas of cross-functional collaboration, group presentation and constructive communication.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Demonstrate solid content acumen to influence product decisions and lead content strategy across our members' end-to-end mental health care experience considering multiple touchpoints and websites
  • Plan and develop human-centered content encompassing original and third party curated content that engages members and encourages them to live a healthier life
  • Support copywriting efforts around UX page copy and educational content for a wide range of health care topics, as needed
  • Improve the content experience to make our digital experiences and products easier to use
  • Use approved clinical sources and manage review process of all content to ensure approvals across stakeholders including marketing, clinical, legal, and product teams
  • Audit, maintain, and optimize all digital content based on KPI's you develop to meet user needs and business goals
  • Develop and maintain monthly homepage editorial content calendar and write or curate new articles to meet client commitments
  • Perform content audits to keep track of existing content and assess what could be reused or needs updates on an annual basis

Required Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of experience developing content strategies or planning content
  • 3+ years of working on content for digital portals or websites
  • 3+ years of experience in copywriting
  • Excellent organization skills with the ability to balance multiple tasks to meet deadlines


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in English, Creative Writing, Journalism, or other comparable Communications degree
  • Experience or working knowledge of writing for web accessibility
  • Understanding of marketing and effective marketing collaboration
  • Solid portfolio of impactful modern content pieces
  • Experience with a variety of content management tools, web analytics software and keyword tools
  • Experience collaborating with a UX team to develop conversational copy resonates with user and meets them where they are
  • Interest in research and consumer testing
  • Possesses natural storyteller's character and a knack for natural dialogue
  • Deploys best self against goals and objectives
  • Ability to be flexible and work in ambiguous situations

Colorado, Connecticut or Nevada Residents Only: The salary range for Colorado residents is $79,700 to $142,600. The salary range for Connecticut/Nevada residents is $87,900 to $156,900. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
