The Role The Sr. Data Analytics Manager, Supply Chain Transformation is responsible for modeling work both supporting the demand and supply planning teams by: Developing best in class processes and serve as a center of excellence for planning guidance Creating statistically based and machine learning models to accurately predict future product demandConducting network optimization studies focused on lowest landed cost modeling to guide future network developmentThe data scientist will also act as point for the overall performance of Demand and Supply Planning Tool (O9) and work with Supply and Demand Planning teams to build functionality to support their business requirements.Our main office that spans small parts of Emeryville, Berkeley, and Oakland is open, and currently local employees can work there or remotely. After Labor Day 2021, we expect most local employees will be at our offices Monday through Wednesday on average with flexibility given to each team for fewer or more days on site. For this role, we are looking for candidates who would be based in the Bay Area or work fully remotely with periodic required travel.Youre excited about this opportunity because your time will be filled withCENTER OF EXCELLENCE PROCESS DEVELOPMENT AND SC TRANSFORMATION: 20% of TIMEIdentify process gap opportunities and execute process improvements to deliver best in class demand and supply planning processesProvide training and education to demand and supply planning teamsAssist in root cause analysis for metrics such as demand forecast error & bias, case fill rate, and inventory targetsMaintain industry knowledge and trends to bring back to SC Transformation team to guide future roadmap planningBuild and Maintain Statistical and Machine learning Models: 20% of TIMECreate and enhance time-series models to predict SKU level customer requirements in monthly buckets for the next 18 monthsReview statistically generated demand forecasts and manage statistical parametersReview monthly SKU level accuracy and bias metrics and adjust models to reduce errorCreate segmentation of products based on characteristics such as volume, customers and length of history and create unique time-series models to best predict future sales volumeIncorporate causal factors such as price and promotion type to predict lift associated with eventsPartner with PHI team on Statistical Modeling and Machine Learning initiative to improve forecast error and biasBuild and Maintain Constraint Based Supply Plan Model: 15% of TIMEManage network optimization models utilizing O9 tool to generate constraint-based supply plans that meet business guidelines and goalsWork with Supply Planning, Sourcing, Marketing, and Demand Planning teams to incorporate business requirements into optimization modelDrive reduction in total operations cost and increased fill rate by enhancing optimization modelCreate ad-hoc optimization scenarios to support the business decision such as where to locate warehouses, impact on cost/fill rate due to supply interruption or change to total delivered cost based on change in source of supplySystem Maintenance and Ad-Hoc Data Analysis: 35% of timeResponsible for overall accuracy of O9 Planning system. Investigate and correct any data integrity or functionality issues working directly with internal IT teams and O9 as needed.Act as key liaison between Premier Nutrition and O9. Review new functionality and determine benefit for Premier as well as work with O9 to add new capabilities as needed.Become O9 Super-User and assist Demand and Supply Planning teams to build reports and capabilities that require advanced supportLead enhancement prioritization process and act as main POC within the PNC business teams and O9 team Utilize statistical background to assist in any ad-hoc analysis needed by the businessThe daily stuff that everyone does but few quantify: 10% of TimeParticipating in company-wide activities and events galoreAttending industry conferences to learn new Impromptu conversations with colleaguesAdministrative work such as calendaring and expense reports, and other non-value-added work
