As Manager, Medical Rebate Pricing, you will provide strategic formulary and rebate analytic support in client RFP opportunities. In this capacity, you will partner with Underwriting, Sales, Client Account Management, and various cross-functional partners to price competitive rebates and achieve new client growth. This role requires knowledge of PBM business and rebates, strong cross functional collaboration, and the ability to drive, articulate, and effectively communication rebate and formulary strategies in a client RFP.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Assess and forecast Medical Drug Rebates for proposed client formulary
  • Perform critical role in the analysis of client formularies and medical policies to determine client eligibility of rebates with respect to manufacturer contracts
  • Build and estimate rebate guarantee models to assist in the economic analysis of market conditions
  • Identify and provide recommendations to ensure rebates are market competitive to achieve new client growth and margin retention
  • Problem solve creatively utilizing rebate knowledge to formulate rebate strategies that will offer market leading rates
  • Identify alternative pricing options and plan design changes based on economic analyses and trends
  • Review and complete rebate financial and formulary requirements of RFP questions for Proposal Team
  • Gather, summarize, and analyze detailed data. Strong aptitude for technical skills is required
  • Assess the risk of pricing guarantees offered
  • Create best practices to maximize efficiency and process workflow for projects with compressed timelines
  • Evaluate client performance and compare forecasts with actuals
  • Audit forecasting tools for accuracy and troubleshoot variances in modeling

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Math, Finance, or equivalent work experience
  • 3+ years of financial analysis, financial modeling, or underwriting skills
  • Experience in reading pharmacy or medical contracts
  • Advanced MS Excel and database querying skills
  • Full COVID-19 vaccination is an essential requirement of this role. UnitedHealth Group will adhere to all federal, state and local regulations as well as all client requirements and will obtain necessary proof of vaccination prior to employment to ensure compliance

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in medical claims
  • Financial consulting or auditing experience
  • PBM and rebate expertise in medical rebates
  • PBM Underwriting
  • Excellent communication skills, both orally and in writing
  • Advanced organization, multi-tasking, and follow up skills
