  • Responsible for preparing, maintaining and troubleshooting one or more rodent primary neuronal subtypes in culture. Also responsible for preparing and maintaining cultures from human primary sensory neuronal tissue. Culture, maintain and troubleshoot two or more human IPSC-derived neuronal cell lines.
  • Perform transductions of neuronal cultures using AAV-based viral vectors, and oversee stocks of virus. Responsible for maintaining, transfecting, and transducing IPSC-derived and standard mammalian cell lines. Ability to design and execute experiments for culture and transduction condition optimization.
  • Perform immunocytochemistry and live-cell based assays in support of engineered ligand-gated ion channel candidate characterization.

  • Extensive experience in mammalian cell culture, transfection and transduction, including IPSC-derived neuronal cells.
  • Experience in working with viral vectors (AAV, HSV, LV).
  • Experience with immunofluorescence and other imaging-based in vitro assays.
  • Proficiency with common laboratory equipment (balances, pH meter, osmometer, etc.)
  • Experience with common lab practices and safety.
