About the team and position

We're looking for an Environmental, Health, and Safety professional to join our EHS team and support our mission to continue to build strong environmental compliance initiatives and health and safety programs. The EHS Coordinator will help research, evaluate and document regulatory compliance requirements, prepare regulatory compliance plans and reports, and support ongoing environmental and health and safety needs across the organization. This individual will play an integral role in the collection, review, and reporting of information to regulatory agencies. Experience and demonstrated research skills and collaboration skills will be critical to the EHS Coordinator's success.

What you'll be doing
  • Conduct desk-based environmental and health and safety regulatory research and synthesize research findings into applicability reviews for new and operating facilities.
  • Gather information from facilities and prepare environmental reports, such as Tier II, air compliance reports, waste reports, and water discharge reports.
  • Prepare environmental plans, such as Spill Prevention, Control, and Countermeasure (SPCC), stormwater pollution prevention plans (SWPPP), and waste contingency plans.
  • Prepare environmental training content, including, oil handling, waste handling, and stormwater management.
  • Review and summarize environmental and health and safety regulatory and legislative policy proposals.
  • Provide general environmental and health and safety compliance support to operating locations, including on site as needed.
  • Work collaboratively with the EHS staff in a dynamic environment.
  • Perform multiple projects within schedule expectations.
  • Support Manager, Environmental Affairs to effectively manage projects.
  • Communicate with Carvana employees, consultants, vendors, and contractors.
  • Recent graduate to 1 or more years


What you should know
  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, or related field.
  • Recent graduate to 1 or more years of related experience in environmental compliance.
  • Demonstrated interest in environmental compliance (through related coursework, previous employment, or personal endeavors).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; and interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Ability to multitask, maintain flexibility, and work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to recognize when to ask for help and how to identify appropriate resources to accomplish tasks as needed.
  • Willing to travel as needed, up to 25%
