Summary of Major Responsibilities:
The Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Coordinator will assist EHS and cross functional teams to improve the safety culture and to meet/exceed regulatory and corporate policy requirements. This is an entry level role that will experience a wide variety of tasks while contributing to the companys overall goals and objectives.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Ensure compliance to corporate policies. Coordinate emergency response (evacuation, hazardous material release, etc.) efforts, and conduct EHS drills and trainings. Maintain emergency and first aid supplies. Assist with the maintenance, implementation, tracking and updating of Exact Sciences EHS policies/programs/procedures as necessary. Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal EHS regulations, as well as Exact Sciences safety standards. Assist with coordinating ergonomic evaluations, perform assessments and providing recommendations and adjustments as necessary. Assist in maintaining EHS written and training programs.Create and review JSA (Job Safety Analysis) with cross-functional groups.Complete hazardous waste storage area inspections.Coordinate and participate in annual Risk Assessments.Lead and Support the EHS Safety Committees.Support daily EHS activities (i.e. audits, incident investigations, corrective action follow-up etc.).Perform quarterly, annual and periodic safety audits with assistance from another team member. Safety audits include fire and electrical safety, ergonomics, chemical hygiene, general housekeeping, waste management, personal protective equipment, and infection prevention.Assist with chemical inventory and acquisition, obtain SDS as needed, and ensure compliance with regulations regarding usage and storage.Work in conjunction with Exact Sciences Corporation to develop, maintain, and oversee disposal of used or expired inventory of chemicals and reagents.Coordinate and administer new employee and annual safety training including biological, chemical, general, and physical protection in laboratories, hazardous materials, PPE, and BBP exposure. Assist in the response and investigation of incidents or exposures.Assist in developing and/or maintaining an annual safety training matrix and competency plan. Coordinate fire and severe weather drills to attain 100% participation in all shifts throughout the year.Maintain and update records of laboratory inspections, internal and external correspondence and investigations. Monitor completion of required tasks in a timely manner.Assist in air quality, noise, biological, toxic and other hazard sampling.Maintain strong collaborative and professional relationships with employees while actively promoting a culture of safety. Demonstrated attention to detail. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and group situations. Proven time management skills.Ability to react to issues in a positive, productive way and successfully deal with work delegation in a fast-paced environment. Excellent organizational skills. Ability to work designated schedule.Ability to work nights and/or weekends.Ability to lift up to 40 pounds for approximately 5% of a typical working day.Ability to work on a mobile device, tablet, or in front of a computer screen and/or perform typing for approximately 90% of a typical working day.Ability to grasp with both hands; pinch with thumb and forefinger; turn with hand/arm; reach above shoulder height.Ability to work on a computer and phone simultaneously.Ability to use a telephone through a headset.Ability to comply with any applicable personal protective equipment requirements.Ability to work with hazardous or flammable materials so as not to endanger oneself or others.Ability and means to travel between Madison locations.Ability to travel 5% of working time away from work location, may include overnight/weekend travel.#LI-SS1

Qualifications:
Minimum QualificationsBachelors degree in Occupational, Health and Safety, Environmental Health or related field; or Associates degree in Occupational, Health and Safety, Environmental Health or related field and 4+ years of relevant experience in lieu of bachelors degree. Basic computer skills to include Internet navigation, Email usage, and word processing.Proficient in Microsoft Office.Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.Demonstrated ability to perform the Essential Duties of the position with or without accommodation.Preferred Qualifications1+ years of EHS experience or an internship in EHS or related field. 1+ years of experience in a clinical laboratory.Experience in an EHS role during a period of rapid business growth. Professional working knowledge with creating and implementing new processes or procedures to various employee groups.Professional working knowledge with seeing projects through from initiation to implementation and follow-up.
