Scientist -Strain Engineering

We are seeking a PhD level scientist with experience in genetic engineering, microorganism fermentations, protein purification, and various biochemical techniques to tackle important synthetic biology projects.
The successful candidate will be able to plan and perform experiments involving the expression of biosynthetic pathways in a microorganism, gene knockouts, site-directed mutagenesis, fermentations, in-vitro and cell lysate reactions, and molecular cloning. The successful candidate will be an integral part of a small, passionate, multi-disciplinary team focused on improving the performance of microbes to deliver therapeutic compounds to improve human health.
Qualifications
•PhD in microbiology, molecular biology, bioengineering, or a related bio-field.
•Experience with genetic and protein engineering techniques
•Experience with microorganisms (e.g. yeast and/or bacteria), which could include protein expression and/or metabolic engineering
•Molecular cloning experience, such as mutagenesis, gibson and/or golden-gate assembly.
•Previous experience supervising or training others
•Experience with microorganism fermentation is a bonus
