Responsibilities:
Guidehouses Decarbonization Solutions team works with global corporations, energy companies, financial institutions, and governments to deliver on a decarbonized energy future. We support our clients and their stakeholders as they envision and prepare for this future by combining our market knowledge, objective modelling capabilities, and deep technical skills with strategic perspectives on decarbonization planning.As a Climate Risk and Resiliency expert within the Decarbonization Solutions team, you will help to identify and build new, transformational offerings for our clients as they relate to climate change. Assignments may include defining climate scenarios and indicators, assessing physical and transitional risks and opportunities, quantifying the financial impacts of climate risks, and designing and implementing climate mitigation and resiliency programs.In this role you will learn, be challenged, and develop skills at a fast pace. In addition to hands-on experience, formal training programs will teach you the diverse skills you need to succeed. You will contribute to complex projects and will learn about project management by managing smaller projects.Position Overview:This position involves working directly with clients to identify climate-related risks and opportunities, and develop ensuing strategic plans, business cases, and cost/benefit and other analyses. This is a highly challenging position that draws heavily upon analytical, creative, and interpersonal skills essential to effective general strategy, policy, and regulatory consulting.The role requires frequent communications with clients and coworkers while effectively sharing information.Primary Responsibilities Include:Working directly with external climate science modeling partners to perform comprehensive climate risk and opportunity assessments.Developing methodologies to assess the economic and financial impacts of climate change at a macroeconomic and microeconomic scale. Preparing and presenting strategic climate analysis, reports, and other documents for internal and/or external client use. Supporting clients in developing sustainability reporting (such as CDP, TCFD, ESG etc.) for climate-related financial disclosures.Acting as a Climate Risk and Resiliency subject matter expert for client workshops, meetings, and interviews. Providing Climate Risk and Resiliency subject matter expertise for sales and delivery efforts.Directing junior team members to support the development of climate change solutions to meet client needs.Additional Responsibilities for this Position may Include:Tracking climate policy development in the United States and globally.Stay abreast of the developments in climate science and how this is relevant to, or how it is translating into tools and practices used by businesses and governments.Representing Guidehouse at external conferences and meetings related to climate change.

Qualifications:
Minimum years of experience: 5 yearsMinimum degree required: Bachelors degreeKnowledge of and/ or technical experience in climate science and relevant concepts and frameworks as they pertain to industry.Experience in consulting or sustainability roles within a large corporation, energy company, or financial institution. Deep understanding of climate risk developments, both in the United States and globallyConfident in providing technical expertise and guidance to client business units to facilitate climate change response.Able to work cross-functionally to deliver and oversee climate mitigation and adaptation programs for clients across different industries.Strong oral and written communication skills.Advanced Excel capabilities, comfortable working with large datasets and quantitative models. Proven track record managing projects and delivering high-quality outputsAbility to extract insights and meaning from qualitative and quantitative information and translate into strategic advice for external clientsStrong interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships with a range of different stakeholdersDesired:Advanced degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, Climate Science, Sustainability, Economics or Finance from a reputable academic institutionExperience with TCFD, CDP, and ESG reportingFamiliarity with climate risk modelling toolsFinancial qualifications such as CFA, GARP, etc. Fluency in a European language (e.g. French, Dutch, German)
