We are recruiting postdoctoral researchers to investigate the cell biology of infection in coronaviruses and enteroviruses. The laboratory uses molecular genetics, advanced microscopy techniques, cell biology, and biochemistry to understand how these viruses use the host autophagy pathway to rearrange the cell and promote virus replication and release.

Positions are available immediately. Individuals who are interested should submit a detailed CV, a brief statement of interests and skills, the names of three references, and a short description of their doctoral training and future research goals to William Jackson, PhD, Department of Microbiology and Immunology, University of Maryland School of Medicine, Email:wjackson@som.umaryland.edu

*Qualifications*

We are looking for an independent and thoughtful individual with less than 2 years' post-doctoral experience, with a PhD in Microbiology, Molecular Biology, or a closely related area. The Fellow will be expected to attack difficult problems in biology and work independently to find solutions. Basic molecular biology skills, as well as oral and written communication skills are required (English fluency-verbal and written). We are looking for a candidate who will work both independently and as part of a team, is willing to learn new techniques, and is passionately curious about science.

If accommodations are needed, contact Staffing & Career Services at 410-706-7171, Monday - Friday, 8:30am - 4:30pm EST. Maryland Relay can be accessed by dialing 711 (in-state) or 1-800-735-2258.
