The Position

The successful candidate will work in an interdisciplinary discovery team focusing on targeted drug delivery to various tissues. This is a laboratory-based position responsible for performing various molecular biology, cell biology, protein purification and characterization experiments. She/He will be a motivated individual with the ability to execute complex experiments and analyze the resulting data in support of Arrowhead's targeted siRNA discovery platform.

Responsibilities

  • Work with supervisor and project team to plan and conduct experiments and to analyze and interpret data
  • Perform cell culture and cell-based assays
  • Perform ELISA, cell binding and protein analytics to evaluate drug properties and functionality
  • Develop and perform new assays as needed
    • Maintain laboratory notebooks and assist in writing activities such as drafting SOPs and preparing development workplans and reports
    • Participates in general lab maintenance


    Requirements:

    • B.S. or M.S. in Biochemistry, Biology, Pharmacology or related field and 2+ year of industrial or academic experience in a laboratory setting
    • Strong molecular biology wet lab techniques
    • Experienced in cell culture and good aseptic technique
    • Excellent record keeping and communication skills
    • Able to execute work plans independently and collaboratively
    • Demonstrated aptitude for learning of and adhering to standard laboratory techniques and safety precautions
    • Capable of multitasking and self-motivated
    • Ability to adapt to a fast-paced environment


    Preferred:

    • Experience with protein expression and purification techniques
    • Experience with protein structure-function relationship
    • General knowledge of immunology
