MISSION

The EH&S Manager will be responsible for overseeing the environmental, health & safety programs at the plant. Incumbent will provide overall safety expertise to the plant, ensure that safe work practices are implemented and followed, and maintain compliance with corporate safety policies as well as State and Federal regulations. This role will also prepare and submit all environmental, health & safety reports as required.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
  • Administers plant safety program, monitoring compliance with company, government and MSHA policies and/or regulations. Ensures plant safety programs are in line with corporate safety policies and practices to continuously improve the company's safety and health performance.
  • Conducts compliance inspections.
  • Facilitates Federal & State inspections, relate to HS and environmental.
  • Performs industrial hygiene tests as required.
  • Performs or supervise all the environmental tests/measurements as required.
  • Assures that all employees, visitors, and contractors are properly trained in job hazards and safe work practices.
  • Conducts quarterly safety and environmental audits.
  • Assists in developing and administering plant safety training programs.
  • Maintains accurate record keeping of safety compliance and employee training records.
  • Serves as a Chair of the Safety Committee.
  • Assists in developing or locating specialized training programs for On-the-Job (OJT) Training Programs and oversees the administration of that program.
  • Maintain knowledge of current best practices and changes in regulations/policies for HS and environmental.
  • Maintain Materials Safety Data Sheets on controlled products used on the plant site.
  • Maintain environmental Data Sheets on channeled emissions, water discharge, etc., as requested from the Federal & State rules.
  • Provide input into the purchase of safety related equipment.
  • Ensures safety systems are maintained and data is accurate.
  • Completes required reporting for Corporate or Group analysis of safety statistics in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Monitor environmental performance at all the plant and prepare specific report.
  • Support the others function for all the environmental aspects, capex need, procedures, etc.
  • Ensure compliance requirements are met through organizational and procedural measures including implementation of Group guidelines, performing trainings, monitoring compliance, etc.


MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
  • EDUCATION: BA / BS degree in Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Occupational Health, or other equivalent fields of study.
  • EXPERIENCE: 3-5 years' experience in a manufacturing environment with extensive time working an in industrial hygiene, safety, or other similar role in a supervisory capacity.
  • SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE: Knowledge of Federal, State, and local governances pertaining to environmental and safety regulation. Extensive knowledge of MSHA and OSHA regulations is required. Experience as a trainer and / or certifier in these subjects is preferred.
  • BUSINESS UDERSTANDING: Accurate record keeping; capable of working with minimal direct supervision. Solid communication, people, organizational, and diagnostic skills.


OTHER: Proficient computer skills using Microsoft Office Suite. Ability to work with teams and people in a Total Quality environment. Strong problem solving / root cause analysis skills.
