Research Associate, Cancer Biology

Ambagon is developing small molecule cancer therapies with an unprecedented mechanism of action, stabilizing cancer-driving proteins to adaptor proteins to modulate their activity. The Research Associate will develop and conduct cellular assays to characterize the activity of new drug candidates. This work will include the selection of disease relevant cell lines and development of novel cell assay formats.

We are a highly interactive and collaborative company, working seamlessly across our sites in the Bay Area and Eindhoven, Netherlands. The Research Associate candidate will be collaborative and team-oriented, proactively working with colleagues on design and conduct of experimental series. They must have excellent communication skills, maintain clear and up-to-date experimental records, and regularly present data to colleagues.

Ambagon has an immediate opening for a Research Associate, Cancer Biology . The successful candidate will have an integral role in the planning and conduct of experiments that support Ambagon's drug discovery efforts, including:

· Develop cell-based assays for compound evaluation and selectivity

· Engineer cell lines to assess drug targets of interest

· Screen compounds for activity in cellular assays

· Conduct experiments to assess drug candidate mechanism of action

Research Associate applicants should have the following qualifications:

· BS in biology, molecular biology, cell biology, or a related field

· 2-4 years of experience in research or drug discovery, ideally in a biotech industry setting

· Hands-on experience in mammalian cell culture required.

· Demonstrated technical proficiency in molecular cell biology

· Ability to use scientific literature as a resource for experimental design

· Collaborative and team-focused work style

· Detail-oriented; excellent record keeping and organizational skills

· Strong written and oral communication skills

· Ability to multi-task with time management of daily activities

· Flexibility within a fast-moving start up environment
