Computational Biologist/Biostatistician

Kelly Scientific, a managed solution provider and business unit of Kelly Services, Inc., is currently seeking a Computational Biologist/Biostatistician for a multi-year, long-term engagement at one of our Global Healthcare clients. This position will be required to work full time on site at our clients' facilities. This role is a full-time, fully benefitted position. As a Computational Biologist working in a computational toxicology team, you will apply various analytical tools and develop new methods to analyze sequences, gene expression and other toxicology data in small interfering RNA, small molecular and other drug discovery projects across all therapeutic areas of this pharmaceutical company.

Daily Responsibilities
  • Perform DNA, protein and oligo sequence homology analysis and database search
  • Analyze bulk RNA-Seq platforms from cellular models, non-clinical species and human
  • Analyze single cell/nucleus RNA-Seq data of multiple platforms
  • Perform pathway, tox biomarker and other enrichment analysis and perform genetics, literature, and business intelligence analysis, to associate target modulation and treatment with adverse phenotypes and to identify potential safety liabilities
  • Curate and integrate transcriptomics data from internal and external sources to build and expand in-house knowledge bases

Education
  • PhD in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Biostatistics, or a related discipline with 3+ years post doctorial or industrial, or MS in the same disciplines with 5+ years, experiences in computational data analysis, preferably with experiences of interaction with researchers across teams in multiple disciplines.

Qualifications

Required:
  • Proficient in DNA, protein, and oligo sequence analysis
  • Proficient in microarray, bulk RNA-Seq, single cell/nucleus RNA-Seq data analysis
  • Proficient in R
  • Excellent communication, reporting and writing skills
  • Excellent team player and collaborator, a self-starter and quick learner working independently

Preferred:
  • Experience with toxicogenomics and other toxicology data analysis and interpretation
  • Experience with large scale data collection, processing, integration, and meta-analysis
  • Experience with high performance parallel computing and cloud computing.
  • Experience with Omicsoft tool suite and Land databases
  • Working experience in Toxicology or Pharmacology in drug discovery company
