We focus on drug discovery for central nervous system disorders. Our platform utilizes cutting-edge technologies including optogenetics and spatial transcriptomics to execute a circuit-based approach to target discovery.

We are seeking highly motivated research associates with expertise in molecular biology who will become key contributors to our discovery team. The position requires working within a team to leverage our platform for target discovery and target validation experiments. The ideal candidate will have a solid foundation in molecular, cellular, or biochemical techniques and the desire to apply that foundation to learning new technologies. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a small team and translate knowledge about brain circuitry into transformative therapies.

Responsibilities

Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • RNA/DNA isolation, qRT-PCR, Western blotting
  • Spatial transcriptomics
  • Brain tissue sectioning, immunohistochemistry, and confocal microscopy
  • Troubleshooting molecular and cellular assays
  • Maintain updated experimental protocols and SOPs
  • Establish relationships with outside vendors and CROs
  • Communicate and present experimental results within the discovery team and company-wide

meetings

Requirements
  • BS or MS related to neurobiology with 2-5 years of experience in academic or biotechnology/pharmaceutical laboratory
  • Ability to design and carry out multi-step experiments with limited supervision
  • Experience with broad biochemical, molecular and cellular techniques
  • Experience with fluorescent in situ hybridization for the detection of DNA or RNA
  • NGS analysis and R/Python programming a plus
  • Organized and detail-oriented with ability to communicate results effectively
  • Must work cooperatively in a goal-oriented team environment
  • Passion to contribute to the success of a cutting-edge company
