Product Development Research Associate, Molecular Biology

Product Development Research Associate, Molecular Biology needed for a contract opportunity with Yoh Scientific's client in San Diego, CA.

This position is in the DNA Characterization Group of a major life science diagnostics company, and requires a BS in Biological Sciences, and at least 5 years of relevant experience and/or a BS/MS in Biological Sciences, and at least 2 years of experience. Must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19.

Key Responsibilities:

Cooperate in the product development process such as planning, feasibility, operation, and transfer
Execute various laboratory processes with little to no instruction
Manage goals within required timeframes
Conduct data analysis, write reports, present results, and asses project(s)

Qualifications:

Experience with DNA/RNA processing enzymes and nucleic acids
Knowledge of qPCR, Bioanalyzer, Nanodrop, and/or fluoresce plate readers (DNA characterization methods)
Product development experience in assay optimization, reagent development, integration and testing, transfer to production and documentation
Knowledge of molecular interactions and reaction kinetics
Strong optimization and troubleshooting experience
Experience with HiSeq, NextSeq, or MiSeq is a plus
Knowledge of NGS secondary analysis techniques is a plus
Must be fully-vaccinated against COVID-19
