The University of Missouri Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology and Womens Health seeks to expand its expertise in reproductive biology and sciences research by hiring a talented Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor. The position will reside in the MU Institute for Womens Health Research in the Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology and Womens Health, University of Missouri School of Medicine and will collaborate closely with members of the Division of Animal Sciences of the College of Agriculture, Food and Natural Resources (https://animalsciences.missouri.edu/) as well as colleagues throughout the School of Medicine and the new NextGen Precision Health initiative in the University of Missouri System (https://precisionhealth.umsystem.edu/). Responsibilities: We seek dynamic individuals who will lead extramurally funded research programs, train doctoral students and postdoctoral fellows, provide academic service on campus and/or professionally, and contribute to one of more of the educational missions in undergraduate or graduate education. The desired focus of the research is on placental biology to enhance our understanding of pregnancy loss and pregnancy complications. The successful candidates will be expected to develop or possess robust, collaborative, externally-funded research programs.

Minimum Qualifications: Ph.D., M.D., or M.D./Ph.D. degree with postdoctoral training or equivalent in reproductive biology or a related field.

Candidates will be evaluated on: excellent written and verbal communication skills to facilitate research and teaching. Applicants for an Assistant Professor position must demonstrate the potential to establish and maintain an externally funded research program. Applicants for an Associate or Full Professor position must have established an extramurally-funded research program with a strong record of peer-reviewed publications and national/international recognition. A record of successful research; ability to communicate well in a research and educational setting; and evidence of past research collaborations or a willingness to work in related research areas. Individuals with interest in utilizing in vitro and animal models to study embryo implantation and/or placental development for basic and translational research are specifically sought.
