Project Biologist / Environmental Scientist
Project Environmental Scientist / Biologist
Smart-Sciences, Inc. has an immediate opening for a Project Environmental Scientist/Biologist to work primarily in the Central and South Florida regions. The successful candidate will have 2 - 6 years of experience consulting in Florida. Experience in areas such as wetland delineations, listed species surveys, environmental permitting, Phase I and II ESAs are expected. Technical writing skills are required. Work primarily includes conducting wetland delineations, wildlife and vegetation surveys, tree surveys, marine surveys, soil and groundwater sampling and associated reports.
Ideal Qualities:
Bachelors degree (required) in a natural science. Masters degree preferred
Minimum of 2 years of environmental consulting experience
Experience with field data collection, wetland delineations, and listed species surveys
Experience in preparing environmental permit applications
Phase I and II Environmental Site Assessments
Soil and groundwater sampling
Gopher tortoise, crested caracara and bat survey experience
Experience in preparing NEPA/PD&E documents
Tree inventory and surveys
Benthic resource assessments
Excellent analytical and problem-solving capabilities
Ability to handle a variety of work assignments for a diverse suite of clients and projects, on time
Strong written and oral communication skills, for both internal and external communications
Proficiency in GIS desired
