We are currently recruiting four Global Professors of
Environmental Science, with expertise in one or more of the
following fields of study: environmental microbiology,
environmental chemistry and pollutant behavior, environmental
physics, ecotoxicology, critical zone science, environmental health
and justice, environmental assessment of contaminated sites, and
reclamation of impacted lands. All of these new hires will be
located at the Northwest Agriculture and Forestry University
(NWAFU) Microcampus B.S. program in Environmental Science in
Yangling, China.
The University of Arizona's (UA) Global Office and the
Department of Environmental Science (ENVS) entered into an
agreement with NWAFU to develop and offer a microcampus B.S. degree
program in Environmental Science at NWAFU that was initiated in
September 2020.
This UA Global microcampus program will be delivered by six UA
faculty "on the ground" at NWAFU in Yangling. The program includes
60 units of coursework taught by UA Faculty (in English), providing
the core Environmental Science curriculum. The remaining ca. 105
units (prerequisites, general education classes, and elective
courses) will be offered by NWAFU faculty. The program will lead to
a joint UA-NWAFU degree, including a B.S. in Environmental Science
from UA.
As one of the top universities in China, NWAFU is well equipped
with state-of-the-art laboratories and classrooms for teaching and
research. It is located in Yangling, a beautiful town of 300,000
people, located 50 miles west of (and connected by high-speed train
to) the provincial capital city Xi'an, the oldest prefecture
capital in China, and home to 12 million people. The Chronicle of Higher Education. Keywords: Professor, Location: Washington, DC - 20037
