About the opportunity SWCA is seeking a Natural Resources Intern for Summer 2022 for our Westborough, MA location. SWCA provides a range of services including ecological design, landscape architecture, environmental site assessment, resource identification, environmental planning, permitting, mitigation, restoration, and remediation. The Firm employs designers and scientists with expertise, interest, and experience to perform tasks with professional acumen and attention to detail. The Natural Resources department employs professional wetland scientists, certified soil scientists, certified wildlife biologists, GIS specialists, environmental designers and planners, and environmental engineers. What you will accomplish The Natural Resources Internship is specifically targeted to assisting wetland scientists with wetland delineations in the field. This Internship may also have the opportunity to work on other projects such as rare species and wildlife surveys, botanical surveys, vegetation surveys, environmental permitting, erosion and sediment control projects, and wetland mitigation and restoration project work. Experience and qualifications for success * Currently enrolled in a college or university, pursuing a bachelor's degree in an environmental related field, or a recent graduate within 12 months of May 1, 2022. * Applicants that are pursing a Master's degree will also be considered. Ph.D. candidates are not eligible through this program. * Must have completed 60 credit hours and a minimum of a junior classification by June 7, 2022. * Applicant should be completing or have completed studies in the natural sciences such as environmental science, natural resource conservation, biology, wetland science, soil science, or natural resource management. * Proficient in MS Office products. Additional: * Ability to work outside in all weather conditions, effectively execute tasks, and conform to shifting priorities and demands. * This internship will be for 10-12 weeks in the summer of 2022, beginning June 6, 2022. * Ability to work a varying schedule. * Ability to travel to the field 50% of the time. * Ability to safely operate a motor vehicle and pass a motor vehicle record screening. * Cover letter required with all applications, please.
