Job Description

The Microbiologist III performs all Microbiological tests and develops methods. You will train and review the work of less senior level Microbiologists / Technicians. This is a lab role.

You will:
  • Perform Microbiological testing on Raw Material, Finished Products and Stability samples including: Sterility Testing, Bacterial Endotoxin testing, Particulate Matter testing, Bioburden test, Antibiotic assays, Microbial Limits test.
  • Develop and Validate new test methods - perform Bacteriostasis and Fungistasis test, Inhibition and Enhancement test, Preservative Effectiveness test, Container Closure Integrity test and Bacterial Retention tests. Compile method validation reports.
  • Support validation functions. Perform enumeration of Biological Indicators. Maintain user logs and BI history data.
  • Writes protocol, review data and write final reports. Schedule, plan, perform and ensure assigned tasks and projects are completed in a timely manner. Prepares reports for other Microbiological tests.
  • Performs laboratory and EM investigations as required. Maintain environmental isolates and identify environmental isolates. Perform evaluation of thermal resistance of spore formers.
  • Schedule/coordinate /perform assigned projects compiles test data, write summary and final reports.
  • Will process EM samples including plate enumeration and PM (particulate matter) data entry
  • Train less senior level Microbiologists / Technicians as required.
  • Other duties as assigned or as business needs require.
  • Follow Teva Safety, Health and Environmental policies and procedures.

Relocation optional for this position.

Qualifications

Qualifications
  • Bachelors of Science degree required, preferably with a Microbiology focus. MS in Microbiology or related sciences preferred.
  • 5 years relevant experience in a Microbiology laboratory required.
  • 4 years of experience in a Pharmaceutical environment required.
  • 4 years Working knowledge of cGMPs, GLP, FDA guidelines, USP and EP and other applicable industry regulatory requirements required.
  • 4 years of microbiological testing in a pharmaceutical microbiology Lab required.
  • 4 years with Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMs) preferred
  • Ability to communicate effectively with excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to interact positively and collaborate with co-workers, management and other internal stakeholders.
  • Self-directed with ability to plan, organize and prioritize work. Capable of scheduling, planning and working independently.
  • Detail oriented with ability to identify errors and/or inconsistencies while performing tasks
