We are seeking an energetic and self-motivated research associate to join a team of scientists working towards discovery of unique anti-cancer compounds for the treatment of targeted patient populations. Role requires experience in using CRISPR/CAS9 as a tool to develop novel cellular cancer models. The candidate will be a highly motivated experimentalist with a strong desire to succeed at the highest level.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
Engineer cell lines with knock-out or knock-in of genes of interest using non-intergrated sgRNA and CAS9
Design strategies for cloning fusion reporter gene vectors, identify CROs to perform cloning and manage execution of the work.
Utilizes lasted Molecular biology tools to NGS,ddPCR rtPCR, advance cloning techniques Golden Gate, Gibson Assembly to build genomic knock up down models.
Requirements
BS/MS equivalent in cell/molecular biology, cancer biology or genetics with at least 1 year hands-on experience in cancer research preferably in a pharmaceutical setting
Experience with molecular biology methods and assays such as molecular cloning, RNA and protein expression approaches (e.g. QPCR, Western blotting) as well as various genetic perturbation methods.
Experience in gene editing using CRISPR/CAS9, particularly strategies that use non-interfated sgRNA and CAS9.
Ability to maintain timely and detailed notes using electronic lab notebook as well as demonstrated experience using Microsoft Excel and GraphPad Prism
Excellent interpersonal skills and willingness to learn a variety of new techniques and technologies; Ability to adapt to rapidly changing priorities and deadlines
