Gannett Fleming's Environmental Management & Natural Resources Team is seeking highly motivated Environmental Scientists and Planners to provide technical expertise across a diverse client base for variety of assignments based out of our New York City, Harrisburg, Philadelphia, Baltimore, and Chicago offices. Depending on the applicant, we would consider other locations. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute technically to infrastructure projects requiring planning, environmental analysis, and documentation in accordance with NEPA, public involvement, and permitting.

The successful candidates will be responsible for assisting with the overall execution of projects in the public sector across a variety of markets and sectors. Specific focus consists of interpretation of federal, state and local agency regulations; planning and executing analysis of a wide range of environmental resources in both the natural and social environments; and preparation of work products including documents that meet the requirements of the NEPA, supporting technical reports, and permit applications.

Duties and responsibilities will include:

Assisting with projects requiring compliance with NEPA as well as everything under the NEPA "umbrella." This includes all facets of the natural and social environments.

Assisting with conducting field work and executing day to day activities of projects.

Assisting with environmental analysis for multi-discipline design projects for a variety of markets (e.g., transportation, water, and facilities).

Assisting with coordination with other internal design disciplines, subconsultants, subcontractors, and regulatory and resource agencies.

Assisting with a wide range of public engagement activities and meetings.

Assisting with business development and teaming for pursuits with public clients across a variety of markets and sectors. This includes marketing and preparing technical and cost proposals.

Assisting with project management duties, such as developing statements of services, cost proposals, and managing financial and other project records.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in environmental or physical science, land use planning, environmental policy, or closely related field. A Master's degree is desired but not required.

Ability to obtain future professional certification such as AICP, CEP, ENV SP, and PWS.

5-7 years of experience and increasing responsibility in the AEC industry delivering consulting services for infrastructure projects.

Firm understanding of applicable federal and state environmental regulations.
